Your initial session entails a review of your general health and any referring practitioner's recommendations. Please let your therapist know if you have medical issues, however minor. Massage is not appropriate for all conditions.

Some clients are concerned about disrobing for massage treatment. Not all treatments necessitate undressing. Should you be requested to alter your attire, you will be given complete privacy to do so. During the massage, you will relax on the massage table, beneath a sheet and blanket. Your therapist will ensure your modesty and comfort at all times.

You will gain most benefit from the sesssion if you relax and make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes and lie quietly or chat. It's your massage - do whatever feels relaxing to you. Massage on a healthy tissue feels great, not painful or ticklish. The most effective and deepest massage works with the body's natural responses, not against them. Working in the area of an injury or chronic pain may cause discomfort at first, but tenderness usually lessens within minutes. Should you feel pain, please tell your therapist so she can make adjustments to minimize it. If you have questions at any point during the session, please do not hesitate to ask them.
